8. Click on the Stop Recording button on the toolbar.
Running Macro
Once you have created a macro, running it is easy. When we were recording the last macro, we assigned the macro to a shortcut—Ctrl + 7. To run the macro, make sure the original mail merge letter is open and active on your screen.
Hold down the Ctrl key and press 7. The Data Form screen should pop up. To run a macro from the Tools menu, follow these steps:
1. Open the document in which you want to run the macro—in this case, open the mail merge letter
2. Choose Tools à Macro à Macros.
3. In the list box, select the macro you want to run; then click Run to run the macro.
Assigning a Macro to a Button
Once you have created a macro to automate repetitive tasks, you can assign the macro to a button on the toolbar to make it much easier to use.
Steps
1. Display the toolbar that you want to add the button to. We are going to add the new button to the toolbar we created earlier. Don’t forget that we gave the new toolbar the name “My Office.”
